Beginning of the Ascanian zoological Park brings us back to 70-th of the XIX century. Fridrich Edward Faltz-Fein started his active work for creation of the zoo in 1886. Preference was given to inhabitants of open savannahs, semi-deserts, steppes. This tradition is kept in the zoo up to nowadays. At the time of excursion trip by the premises of the zoo at the reserve steppe there can be seen over 800 ungulate animals (pens of Bol’shoy Chapel’skiy pod). To the Bol’shoy Chapel’skiy pod with herds of wild animals you can go on minivan (groups 10-12 people) or on equestrian carriage (groups 4-5 people). Duration of the trip is 3 hours. You can take a look at all the sights of the reserve within 2 days, having booked several trips.
